The Endowment for Unexceptional Humans

So, when I'm not being a writer, I have one other project. I run a charitable organization called The Endowment for Unexceptional Humans. The name, obviously, is a bit tongue-in-cheek, as no one in America wants to think of herself as "unexceptional." But the mission is real.

The Endowment for Unexceptional Humans provides scholarships and grants to individuals with a good plan for future success. We focus on an individual or group's plan for the future and their ability to demonstrate their perseverance, resilience, character, and ability to find support, rather than awarding our support based on the prior performance of applicants. These scholarships and grants are designed to help those who demonstrate a gap between their potential and their past performance, and who have a plan for closing that gap. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to make themselves into whomever they have dreamed themselves to be.

This summer, we're kicking of our "I Have A Plan" campaign. And we've started with this video.
